Quote of the Day...

Postby Chuft-Captain » Sun Jul 11, 2010 12:50 am

Inspired by a quote I read today, I think what this forum needs is a bit of light humour in the form of a "quote of the day" thread...
Feel free to post any quotes you come across which are particularly funny, ironic, or clever...

OK, I'll start it off with today's aforementioned quote...

In relation to Mel Gibson's audio-taped rant against then-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, one Hollywood studio chief, in distancing himself from Gibson, apparently said:

"I'd rather get engaged to Lindsay Lohan than have anything to do with him"

LMAO

Who said that though?
(As this is the quote of the day thread, the actual quote should be in italics and quoted, and include an attribution.)

eg. "Who let the tabloids in here?" -- Lindsay Lohan

... Funny, ironic, or clever quotes are preferred of course. :)

"So that's when I decided to take that period of time to uh...cough...to uh...uh....take care of a bodily function......so that I wouldn't be troubled with having to do that later on. Everyone has their firsts on the moon...(and that one hasn't been disputed by anybody)."
-- Buzz Aldrin, talking about what he did just before stepping onto the moon (from the documentary "In the Shadow of the Moon").

Nice one Buzz.... but a little bit too much information! 8)

I think however my favorite quote from that program was by Charlie Duke:

"We've been to the moon nine times...I mean why did we fake it nine times... if we faked it?"

Bartender: "What can I do for you?"

Catwoman: "White Russian, no ice, hold the vodka, hold the Kahlua."

Bartender: "Cream, straight up."

Ok,
...today's quote is from my favorite rock muso of all time: Patti Smith ...

"I'm more materialistic about my soul than about objects, ... except ... now that I've become, ... you know ... such a big deal, I've been thinkin', maybe I'll get me a sports-car!"

(responding to a question in a 1978 talk show about the attraction of God vs Santa Claus vs the Easter Bunny)
